About

This website was developed mainly for a teenage and young-adult audience. As a result, to be realistic about all the things competing for a young person’s attention, it is intentionally brief, edgy, and visual.

This website was also developed for other co-ops—in particular to use as a presentation tool for outreach in local schools. Many classrooms now come complete with a computer, internet access, and projection screen. So if you’re from a co-op and want to present the cooperative message to a high-school class, for example, just open up the Co-ops Rock site and click like there’s no tomorrow. There are a few articles to cover co-op basics, a lot of great videos to watch, and an illustration gallery with text on the homepage that can be advanced by mouseclick—something other cooperatives from around the nation have used as their primary presentation device with great success.

So whether you’re a kid or an old salty-dog co-op veteran, kick around a while and enjoy your stay. And if you have a tip, feedback, or have used this site for your own outreach program, we’d love to hear from you.

In Cooperation,

—Ken
